About the NDSS The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) is designed to help you self-manage your diabetes. It’s free to join and open to all Australians diagnosed with diabetes. There are many benefits of being registered with the NDSS, such as access to: A range of subsidised diabetes products Support services for practical help and guidance Diabetes Helpline. You can register with the NDSS if you: Live in Australia or are visiting from a country which has reciprocal health care agreements on an applicable visa Have been diagnosed with diabetes by a doctor, endocrinologist or credentialled diabetes educator Hold (or are eligible to hold) a Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs card. Register with the NDSS NDSS Privacy Policy The NDSS is an initiative of the Australian Government and is administered by Diabetes Australia. My NDSS Portal You can access your NDSS information and services online and in one place via My NDSS Portal. As an NDSS Registrant with an email and mobile number you can manage your NDSS services, including: updating your details, book into support programs and events and view your product purchase history and eligibility. Diabetes products People with diabetes can access a range of supplies and services, at subsidised costs, to self-manage their condition and live well. NDSS products include: Blood glucose monitoring strips Urine monitoring strips Insulin syringes and pen needles Insulin pump consumables Continuous and flash glucose monitoring products. Where can I order NDSS products ? Subsidised products are available through NDSS access points (usually a community pharmacy). Find your closest NDSS access point pharmacy online or call the NDSS Helpline on 1800 637 700. You can also buy diabetes products from our online shop. NDSS Online Services Directory The NDSS Online Services Directory gives you a list of health professionals to help you manage your diabetes. You can: Search for doctors, endocrinologists, diabetes educators, dietitians, or other health professionals in your area Find your nearest NDSS access point pharmacy. NDSS National Helpline The Helpline is often the first point of contact for people wanting reliable, evidence-based information, caring support, and referrals to other services. It’s open to anyone with diabetes, at any stage of their journey, family members and carers, and health professionals. Call the NDSS National Helpline on 1800 637 700 to: Talk with a health professional about type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes Get advice on how to self-manage your diabetes Learn more about NDSS products Request a replacement registration card Update your contact details. Diabetes Australia may from time to time receive sponsorship and/or educational grants from suppliers of diabetes products or medicines in support of diabetes consumer awareness raising, educational activities for health professionals, conferences and meetings, and other activities. Where the third party supplier is a current or prospective supplier of products or medicines included (or which could be proposed for inclusion) on the NDSS Product Schedule, Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) or other similar scheme accessed by persons with diabetes that is funded (in whole or in part) by the Commonwealth, Diabetes Australia provides this assurance that no third party supplier is entitled to, nor will receive, any advantage in terms of the provision of Commonwealth-subsidised diabetes products or medicines to people with diabetes or the provision of Scheme information to people with diabetes or health professionals.
