Update on Ozempic availability 7 November 2022 Diabetes Australia has been advised by Novo Nordisk that Ozempic will be unavailable in Australia until the end of March 2023. This is part of a worldwide shortage. It is also impacting supplies of other similar medicines including Trulicity. While we understand this may cause some concern, it is important to note that there are many other very effective diabetes medicines available in Australia for people with type 2 diabetes that contribute to excellent health outcomes. We encourage people who may be affected to make an appointment with their GP to review their diabetes management. This is an opportunity to consider other medicines, as well as to revisit other aspects of your type 2 diabetes management. There is also lots of information and support available through the National Diabetes Services Scheme to help you with your diabetes management.
