A message from our Patron His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC 7 May 2020 The year 2020 continues to unfold in ways few of us could have imagined. As the Patron of Diabetes Queensland and your Governor, I send to you all my sincerest best wishes at this demanding time. Living with diabetes can be challenging in the best of times, and I understand people may be presently experiencing a heightened level of anxiety. I have been assured and impressed by the ways in which Queenslanders are responding to the disruption to community and family life wrought by COVID-19. They have been ably supported by community-aligned organsiations such as Diabetes Queensland, which have adapted their service in response to the changing environment. Although group education programs and events are currently on hold, the Chief Executive Officer, Sturt Eastwood, and his team, will undoubtedly be there to help with all your self-management needs. Kaye and I applaud all staff and supporters of Diabetes Queensland for their dedicated service in caring for the health and wellbeing of their community. We hope during weeks and months ahead you, your family and your friends remain well, connected and strong. His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey ACGovernor of Queensland
