Diabetes Australia in Queensland For over 50 years we have been caring for and providing a collective voice for the diabetes community in Queensland. We work hard to improve the lives of all Queenslanders living with diabetes by providing educational programs and services, support, advice and advocacy so they can lead happy and healthy lives. We are committed to improving the lives of people living with all types of diabetes and those who may be at risk of developing the condition. We are a trusted and responsive source of information, support, and education for Queensland’s diabetes community. In 2021, the members of Diabetes Queensland voted in favour of unifying with Diabetes Australia. Diabetes Queensland now operates as part of the Diabetes Australia Group. Supporting the diabetes community in Queensland Awareness and advocacy We deliver educational campaigns and media activities across Queensland to raise community awareness about the seriousness of diabetes and its impact on individuals and the community. We also promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and provide advice and guidance on how to on how to live a healthier life. We work with all levels of government in Queensland to advocate for policies and programs that improve the lives of people living with or at risk of diabetes. Connection and support We are committed to connecting and supporting individuals and communities living with diabetes. We offer a range of programs and services across Queensland, linking people with support in their local area. Our services include expert advice from health professionals via our contact centre, as well as events and connections to local services. Education and information We deliver a broad range of education events to help and support Queenslanders living with all types of diabetes, their families and carers. Our events are designed to help you better understand your diabetes, so you can manage it with confidence. We also offer a range of programs and resources specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse groups.
