Diabetes TASis a member organisation of Diabetes Australia and delivers the NDSS to people of Tasmania. This role, combined with raising community awareness of diabetes and its associated risk factors, together with improving the outcomes for people with diabetes are key areas of focus for the organisation.
Activities undertaken by Diabetes TAS include:
- group and 1:1 education sessions with Diabetes Educators
- self-management courses
- health Cooking classes and Supermarket Tours
- working with community organisations and aged care facilities to promote best practice in diabetes management
- advocacy for people with diabetes
- camps for children and you adults
- retail outlet selling various health products, cook books and food products.
